Dr. Gregory Allen is the Medical Director of Deseret A & L Institute and Family Practioner for Deseret Family Medicine. His medical education began at the University of Autonoma of Guadalajara where he earned his Doctorate of Medicine. From there he completed an internship at New York Medical College and his residency in Family Practice at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines, IA. It was during his residency that he developed a special interest in skin care. He has continued his training and study in this field and has received extensive training on all skin care procedures. His experience practicing in Arizona has increased his concern for the severity of skin cancer in the valley. After performing hundreds of skin cancer surgeries, he has now dedicated himself to increasing awareness of the danger of skin cancer and the importance of educating the public on prevention. At Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute he has opened the door for this type of education, teaching all of his patients the importance of sunscreen and limited sun exposure. He is also organizing a race in the Fall, Deseret A & L’s Run From the Sun Half Marathon and 5K, to raise money for skin cancer charities and broaden the reach in his efforts to educate. Dr. Allen’s warm, enthusiastic personality combined with his professional knowledge of the field leaves his patients feeling well cared for. He and his wife, Tera, live with their four children in Gilbert, AZ.
